I purchased the EXO v.1 in 2010 for $89.99. It's been an incredible bag. Been taken care of by the gorillas at the air terminals around this nation and scarcely demonstrates any wear. As of late, it was time to add an alternate substantial bag to our family unit and characteristically I returned to ebags. Amazingly, the new EXO v.2.0 is $179.00!!! Twice what I paid for the 1.0 How can this be?! What did I get for an alternate 90 dollars? I sat them side by side and looked at them. The primary thing I perceived was the new EXO is around 1.5 inches thicker than the old variant and around 1/2 inch taller. I will take the expression of the planner who said in a prior audit that the wheels are the same. I can't tell any distinction in structure or capacity there. The following thing that struck me was the totally FLIMSY extendable handle. The architect says it meets the same execution/toughness necessities that the past form met. By what method would I be able to contend with that? Clearly the base necessities for execution and sturdiness are low to the point that even this unstable handle could pass. I'm completely serious! I would expect this sort of low quality on Walmart gear. It has truly harmed my assessment of this pack and by augmentation, all ebags. I generally thought ebags put quality first and were slightly a sleeper brand, fantastic and low cost, yet with this pack they have turned around themselves - twofold the cost and quality going downhill. I'm genuinely reluctant to tug on this pack - particularly to unintentionally wind/torque on the handle. I'm perplexed it will twist down the middle much the same as my walkie talkie recieving wire did when I was a child! I have set different packs on top of my old EXO and inclined it forward on the front two wheels with alternate sacks resting on the handle and never agonized over it with all that weight, however I uncertainty this pack can deal with its own particular weight substantially less with a case stacked on it. I'm flying with it surprisingly tomorrow...i will treat it like my other Exo..i will upgrade when I return.
I will start by saying that I had truly elevated requirements in light of my involvement with the first form of these bags...i have just utilized them on one trek so far...i was going to hold up before giving my survey yet continued getting messages asking for an audit so here it is. My beginning considerations are that the extendable handles and wheel get-togethers are not as strong as the past adaptation, there is no outer means for ID insight, and I for one dislike the "cross-over" zipper draw hook system...it is harder to lock and doesn't appear to be as secure as the past variant (however locks and bolts just keep genuine individuals out at any rate!). The sacks are still as strong and open as the firsts so I am content with those angles, and I don't see any reason they won't last pretty much as long...as I said before I expect the handles or wheels to be the frail points...but I'm not excessively concerned due to the ebags guarantee, which as I would see it is unparalleled! I might want to see a 3.0 form with the first extendable handle and tighter wheel gatherings on the new style pack.
